Scraping Therapy Wellness Guide
Scraping therapy is a traditional health-preserving practice designed to help people relax both body and mind, develop comfortable body care habits, and encourage them to engage in conscious daily self-care.
Prepare
PreparePlease prepare the following items:
✓ Gua Sha Tools
✓Massage oils, such as sesame oil or herbal massage oil
✓ Mullein
✓Body Care Towel
How to Use
1. Get into a comfortable sitting or lying position, and expose the area to be used.
2. Apply an appropriate amount of massage oil evenly to the affected area.
3. Place the gua sha tool against the skin at an angle of approximately 45 degrees.
4. Gently glide the tool across the body surface in one direction, following the natural body contours, or use smooth outward and downward strokes.
5. Start with gentle pressure, then gradually adjust based on your personal comfort level. Massage each area for about 20 to 30 repetitions.
6. Avoid covering an excessively large area at one time, so as not to cause discomfort or fatigue.
7. After use, wipe off excess oil and keep the affected area warm with a clean towel.
Preventive Measures
• Avoid using this tool immediately when you are hungry or after overeating. Please stay relaxed before use.
•Keep the environment warm and avoid direct exposure to cold air.
• Apply even pressure. Do not exert excessive force. Stop immediately if you feel dizzy, nauseous, or unwell.
• Avoid taking a shower or being exposed to cold wind within 30 minutes after use. Drink warm water and refrain from eating cold food or drinking cold beverages.
Contraindications
Do not use gua sha on broken, infected, inflamed or scarred skin areas, parts with tumors or severe skin disorders, nor on individuals with severe heart disease or severe liver and kidney disease. Pregnant women, the extremely weak, patients with hemorrhagic diseases or those with a tendency to bleed should use it with caution.
